In 2001 HGT headed for another popular Florida talent contest, located next to the beautiful Suwannee River in live oak. Oops, they didn’t make it; the person who was responsible for fueling the bus must have been so excited, he forgot (somehow) to make sure there was enough fuel to make it to the contest. After 6 hours on the side of the road, less than 20 miles to their dream destination, and over 100 degree weather, they vowed to return next year and win, and win they did !!!

It wasn't as hot in 2002, in fact it rained. The emcee for the concert was amused at HGT's song selection, "Let's Meet By the River", and "Just Another Rainy Day". Hmm, next to the Suwannee river, it was raining, guess it was an interesting selection, unplanned, no doubt.
